CF Compact
The CF Compact analysis is based on particle size characterisation of individual particles in complex particulate backgrounds i.e. the sample matrix. The direct experience of the CellFacts product development has produced a system optimized for the detection of micro-organisms.
Particle size is determined by electrical flow impedance through an orifice(volume displacement is the most accurate means of determining the size of a particle). A cell passing through an orifice, either side of which are electrodes, displaces its own volume of electrolyte so generating a voltage pulse which is directly proportional to the particles volume irrespective of its shape.
Key to the ease of use of the CF Compact system is the patented ANTI-BLOCK technology which prevents blockage or clogging of the orifice. The patented systems allow the sample preparation stage to be greatly simplified as in most applications there is no requirement to remove or filter large background particulates.
The system is simple to operate undertaking sophisticated particle analysis of a sample in under 40 seconds in either batch or continuous mode. The dynamic range of the unit makes it very sensitive at detecting particles over a wide range of sizes.
